Pledge groups were created to interest girls who are too young to join Rainbow. Any girl between the ages of 9 and 11 may become a Pledge to the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and then she is able to go on to join her local Rainbow assembly after her 11th birthday. Nevada currently has four active Pledge groups - three in Northern Nevada and one in Las Vegas. Pledge groups often participate in many of the Rainbow activites as well as hold their own meetings, service projects and fund-raisers. The lessons taught through the Rainbow Pledge program teach moral values, teamwork, respect, patriotism, and charity to others.
